Hi to EVERYONE at RED,
No doubt the next week is going to be hectic as you all prepare to unleash RED upon the world. Unfortunately, I do not have a reservation, but God I wish I did! No matter, I want wish everyone at RED the greatest success next week at NAB and in the years beyond.
You guys have been visionary... and I hope your "revolution" is even more wildly successful than you even dared to dream.
Good luck guys!
Best Wishes to you all,
Brainstorm
May the force be with you!

No such luck Jarred. I'd much prefer to congatulate you all in person, but I'll be stuck down here at home in Sydney wishing I was at NAB... so my message is the best I can do!

Good luck Red people. I wish I could be there. Instead I will be working on some bad 2K Cineon scans. Ironic, since I just wrote a long post playing devil's advocate for film again. What was I thinking?
GO FORTH RED, YOU JUGGERNAUT YOU.
There we are, feel better now.

I'll be stuck in Sydney with you too unfortunately Brainstorm.
Nevertheless, I'll be counting on the reduser brethren for all the juicy goss and reportage. I Echo the goodluck sentiments. RED team, come NAB, camera makers youll be not, history makers you shall be. Blow us away.

My dream camera is almost here, and I don't know what to do to contain my excitement. Granted I can't afford to get one (yet) but I will have one for my own!
My biggest question for now is, does anyone know what media outlets will be covering the REDs release into the wild? I have the NAB footage from last year, but I want to see people playing with it. I'd love to see footage directly from the camera, but I'm sure that won't be popping up soon. I'm more interested in if you guys have someone like DL.TV stopping by, just so I can get independent impressions.
Well I guess I'll go count my saved pennies again to see how much more I have to save.......

Hey, Jarred, it would be awsome if you could start seeding a .torrent of a clip or two of RED footage on the first day of NAB for all of us who can't make it to Vegas. I'm putting it out there just in case this wasn't considered with only a week or so left to go before NAB.... Don't forget about all of us!

Hi RED Team,
It has been very exciting watching the development from a distance....Thanks for taking on the challenge!! .....Can't imagine how exciting it must be, being part of the team....especially at this point.
Best Wishes to you all.

I am extremely impressed with how you've pulled this off. I think RED One is going to be the Canon 1Ds MkII of the moving picture world. You have so much vision, skill and determination to do it, congratulations!
I can't wait for the rest of the world to find out about this thing. There are so many people in the industry who still have no idea, busy getting on with their Sony products...
The only downside I see to it, is that I don't have one!
Enjoy NAB knowing you did it!

I am also staying home, counting my pennies to get my very own reservation #. So I'm counting on all you reduser's to keep us posted about everything. You won't be sleeping anyways, so you might as well stay up all night telling us what exactly what you saw. Please?
Congratulations Red team. Goodluck at NAB (though it looks like you don't need it)

You guys are going to be run off your feet....a few case's of RED bull may be in order...!
I hope there are a few sleeping bags out the back of the RED booth....you may never get to go back to the hotel.....!
Anyway, good luck, i really wish i was able to be there to witness the madness around the RED booth....!

Usually it is better to ask for forgiveness rather than permission, HOWEVER, as part of the Reduser community I would respect the immense amount of time and money Jim has voluntarily invested into RED and skip the youtube NAB idea.
I would bet money the redteam will provide us with plenty of info, pics, details etc following the Monday debut. I would bet my Red camera that we will be blown away.
OK - well maybe not my camera :-)

even its only a 30 sec clip.. ill just hit the loop function on my quicktime pro

If you want to walk in & out of NAB with a DSLR or video camera visible you will be asked (usually) to show your registration sticker for that camera (not sure if only media can get that). Make sure you bring it in & out in a bag or something.
Now that I think about the above it might only be the case that you need to do this if you registered as media (which I did last year). Anyone else have any experience with this?

I always bring my wee Casio still camera that also records decent low-light 640 by 480 video... no problems so far.
I do remember days past when some "spy" with a camera would be trying to photograph some booth presentation and asked politely (and sometimes very bluntly) by the booth staff to leave...
