We've been deep in the trenches for the past 6 months developing our 4k post pipeline. We've spent countless nights baby sitting RC and praying it won't crash. We've manually conformed and matched by hand numerous commercials... and then came Scratch.
It pains me to read all the workflow posts on the boards here because we were there. I was actually really hesitant about diving in but there is no buyers remorse in sight.
Being able to load in a days footage and 'just play it' is a really beautiful thing. It's not a solution for everyone but I thought it was worth sharing my positive experiences with it so far. We just finished our first full project with it, a 30 minute short that is on exhibition at the whitney museum and everything worked as advertised. Conform was snap and we were able to immediately dive into color correction.
Also, the Assimilate guys couldn't be a friendlier group. Lucas is the face of Assimilate on the boards but they have a very personal level of support that feels a lot like REDs.
