View Full Version : Other German 2K/FullHD D-Cinema Camera makers

Besides ARRI ( D-20 ) nearly 3K Cmos sensor but only recorded onto SONY 's HDCAM SR , I aware another German D-Cinema Camera maker and they are more aggressive than the OLD BRAND which switch over Tape based format to HDD format.
But all they are doing is 2K doen to 720P and RED One is a big brother to them which is nearly 5K to anything.
I hope many high Res. sensor based Camera makers can forget about the Tape based ( expensive ) field portable recorder ( Like SR or other 444 RGB nearly uncompressed Field DDR ),
Only just Sensor is not enough, and CODEC and Format exchange software is other ket factors to stand out from the crowd.

@ Jarred: "you are completely nuts as well" ( quote )
I think these words of you expressed what I was thinking, but only a forum owner is powerful and wise enough to write like you did.

Anders, Iīve seen photos of you during steadicam operation and like to ask something, do you own a Tiffen Clipper 24 or a Pro System ? And what do you prefer, the Pro Arm or the new G-50 ?

I own the older Clipper 2. The Pro arm is great, so is the G50. I'm very fond the iso-elastic motion and the tool-free adjustmnts though....
Range wise the G70 is more comparable to the Pro arm.

So, how's the weather over there? Over here spring is finally kicking in. Our neighbour's daughter got herself a young kitten. Say hi to Richard and Emily for us, tell 'em the stew is on its way! Come again? I'm sorry, the line is really bad.

Anders, thanks for your notes, Iīve never used / being able to check the Pro System, thatīs why I was asking.
I dealt with CP-stuff and also liked Baer-Belīs system but their rig is a bit heavy and too beefed up for my taste. With the Red, Iīd like to go with a light setup, so if at all, Iīd like to get the Archer SE or ( since itīs way more affordable than the archer, but have to check if itīs good enough ) the Artemis DV Pro from Sachtler.

Oh man, I actually laughed out loud in the office when I read this! I'm not quite sure what the thread was about when it started, but it seems to have evolved into a "Stewart Appreciation Thread", so I want to add my post and declare that he definitely makes surfing REDuser.net a very unpredictable and thoroughly entertaining experience! We love you, dude! :usd:
