That may be true for smaller cameras and lenses.

I felt (may be it's just me) your approach is itself is very overreacting and suspecting. I understand that one should be cautious on forums, but one can approach anyone more politely. Also,it's not our business to tell him how to use his RED.

Do a little math no one would steal a RED numbered 469 with Zeiss Super Speeds and claim himself as Nirav Shah.

i KNOW who is NIRAV SHAH is! I have no doubt about his ability in cinematography! i think babubu pointed this question to kalone and not me,because i KNOW who N.S is. i didn't suspect N.S. I suspect the reduser.net forum user in the name of N.S. Get your facts right.


FIRST: This is no overreacting or arrogant in any way. Not in a red user at least. This is because a new user (by any name) claiming to have a red camera or high end optics and want to sell or rent those always,ALWAYS get suspicious at.


SECOND: a red one camera OWNER mostly will never have a post of ONLY 3! (at the time of the post). certainly not a owner #469. If one is genuine owner of a sub 500 camera (who reserved it,to buy it) one might have joined a year ago (not MAY 2008). Red is a new technology and need a lot of new information to operate. A professional who works mainly in film (who ever you are) would have tons and tons of question to ask and to operate red one or at least to verify the information to operate red one.

Even if N.S just got the red one camera as a second hand user (who MIGHT bought red for higher price from the reservation buyer) it is too soon to have it on rent with expensive SET OF lens.

i didn't PM the poster (in the name of n.s) because obviously he would have said he REALLY is n.s. i publicly placing suspicion on the user because to warn other users of this highly suspicious user (in the name of n.s)


ABOUT THIVES IN BOLLYWOOD.

there are thieves everywhere in world. i have no doubt about that. but we are talking about specific thing about our industry here. You might want to read this thread about equipment in USA got lost and mainly ended up in bollywood.
