I just wanted to say I am really really happy with big jon's great news.
For those of you who are unaware he updated the schedule post, even though the dates are the same he is optimistic about the camera shipping numbers and the accessories as well. I was just a little confused about the Red Drive, was it back ordered before? Do you have a new issue with these drives or just a lot of folks trying to get their hands on them all at the same time?
Thanks anyway for the good news!
Still patiently waiting...

my red (1765) was delivered last week with drive and dovetail and everything I ordered. The new dovetail doesn't seem to have any play, although once it locked in, I had to use a hammer and a punch to get the pin to go back down. (very gently of course)

That happened to me too. If the dovetail's locking mechanism and the hole doesn't line up exactly and you flip the dovetail's switch to engage it, the locking mechanism will get stuck.
Just wiggle/slide the dovetail and the plate "side-to-side" a bit and it'll release it.

Got my camera last week. Same problem with the dovetail. I could only get it off by taking off the bottom plate and punching it from behind. I removed the rubber pad that surrounds the locking pin and it functions perfectly although now rattles a little ( Hence the pad ). It seems to be a bit thick and with the force needed to lock the plate it gets jammed. I am going to thin out the rubber pad and re-insert it.
Geoff.

It would be great if you put your camera # on your profile or post to see who has gotten the camera! Thanks.

Yeah, it even says they are hoping to get EXTRA cameras out in June.
That would be great.
I'm 2434, which means if they can get 35 extra cams out between this and next month, I might get mine in the next batch rather than the one after!
That would definitely be Xmas early!:w00t:

I'm wondering when they're going to blast out the next round of e-mails - and who will get it. As far as I remember they said that they would sent out the e-mails a few weeks before the cameras would be able to ship. Brent? Pretty please? With sugar on top?

Letting you know when the email goes out would ruin the suspense, wouldn't it?
As Big Jon said, we are going to try to get out more than #1751-#2000 in June - but we are sticking with stated delivery schedule at this time.

Can't wait to have #2464 here in LA. I like how Red does it- underpromise and overdeliver. I do that with clients all the time, too, and it's good business for all.

The suspense can't possibly be bigger than my excitement to get the camera

This is getting too far!
It is great that we get our cameras on schedule, and maybe even before that, but I cannot support a company where they break girls!
