OK,
Anyone care to guess how many 10% deposits on REDONE cameras will be made during the week of NAB?

I vote for 852.

I don't think there will be any reservations at NAB, because we all know that this camera really doesn't exist. ;)
OK, if I were going to guess, I'd say 853 (sorry Jaime) :)

All other video camera companies go bankrupt or are left in a state of paralysis after management staff are left in a state nervous exhaustion as a non-existent piece of equipment materializes before their very eyes. Existential discussions suddenly become commonplace... the onset of evening produces a wave of "tired and emotional" company reps.
It's been a long day.
It wouldn't surprise me if numbers might reach 1000(+) as there are so, so many applications for this piece of kit and lots of hot little hands wanting to get hold of it...

They will sell 1000 more cameras sold within the first two days of NAB. I sure hope they have a hell of a lot of extra bandwidth on www.RED.com -

Currently on the poll there are 7 votes for 1000+
One of those first votes was mine...
Remember, Sharky asked us to estimate how many RED One orders would be taken during the week of NAB - not just at NAB. RED will also be taking orders via their web site. I'd be highly surprised if the total orders for RED One during the week of NAB didn't go well beyond 1,000 - perhaps even beyond 2,000.

This time, I hope that RED's e-commerce and various sales strategies become as state of the art as the camera itself.
I saw quite a bit of confusion happening in the last couple reservations... even the simple act of selling stickers on-line proved problematic.

Hey, that's my #.
Over the weekend I was telling a family member that Red could double reservations.
LOL, I'm going way out here.... 1500.
C'mon Red...

Well if we are going for actual numbers and not the poll numbers, I say 1,954.

Hey i reckon they will get 300 on the first day. They got about 400 hundred on the three day last chance reserving or thereabouts i think?
I voted for 100+ but was reckoning just below the 500 (490) should be a fairly easy target to reach. The rest will depend on the things we either dont know about or has yet to fully prove itself like magic focus and lattitude. If magic focus is that good and photos clearly show lattitude at 11 + Then 1,000 units could be possible.
Maybe we should ask Jim what he reckons............

I think about 700-900 (856 is my guess). But I can see the selling more after NAB when people start getting their cameras and all the footage goes up. The skepticism will finally be layed to rest. I think that by the end the year they'll have over 10,000 on their list.
I will not edit this post, just to show my real guess.

RED is not gonna say what they sold. Too many competitors want to know that info. But if I had to guess: 816

There is going to be a ton sold there is allot of people that are waitting to see the work flow and once they do they will buy. This is what NAB is for making deals on the floor that turn into sales. And if you are a good enough client they take you to very fancy dinners and try. its fun to watch them look at the check.

I have been thinking about this a bit -
I actually think by Friday night at the end of the show - they will sell another 2000+ cameras.
Call me crazy ....

I totally agree I think the number will blow all of us away. And us reservation holders will be very very happy we are where we are at
