Maybe it's the best stereo microphone ever but the design makes it so ridiculous

Best stereo mic I ever heard was a Neumann RSM 191 and it didn't have any ears.
BTW, there is an arguable difference between stereo and binaural. I think they are positioning this unusual-looking piece as binaural.

PS: Dear Red, please make the audio inputs industry standard, professional 0 or +4 dB. Please get the pinouts right. Pin 1 is ground. Pine 2 is high. Pin 3 is low.

They are +4 when in Line mode and the pinouts are standard for the TA3 connector - which is different to the XLR standard.

I recorded a binaural soundtrack for an Aboriginal film I did for the National Museum of Australia back in 2000. When reproduced through headphones it is an amazing experience...just like you are there - all with just two channels. The secret lies in the positioning of the mics when recording - I used a plastic dummys head and just bored out the ear holes to fit in a couple Schoeps cardioid onmis. Pan one left, one right and hit record on whatever you're using! That easy...but to appreciate the true beauty of this technique you have to listen back thru headphones. The film at the museum does just that. Easy to achieve yourself.

Apparently that'd be news to they guys on the west coast of the US.
