Depends on many things. What's the competition going to be like within a few months with 4K? How fast can we get to editing 4K in realtime? Will Hollywood switch over immediately or will they stick with HD solutions instead? What else can RED develop on the software/hardware front by next year? What are third-party manufacturers working on for RED? One of the biggest factors could be not RED's cameras but their lenses. Once those go out to the masses at such affordable prices, how will the market respond then?

It's a wait and see situation as far as RED's adoption goes. So far there's definitely 1,000+ shooters/rental houses with cameras at the ready. For a $17,500 RAW camera just coming to the market, that's pretty darn good.

You obviously have zero idea of why Jim started RDCCC. It isn't going to happen. This has already been talked about ad nauseum and Jim made it clear a long time ago why RDCCC was staying private and why he wasn't going to be selling.
