So dumb question: will this be necessary to edit with ProRes 4:2:2 on a Mac Pro, or playback realtime Redcode 4k downresed to HD on set?

Looks like it's the AJA IO with Pro4:2:2 hardware built in.

No its just an IO... You can do all your ingest and cross convertion with it. It is just nice ant you can ingest straight into prores

Might we attach this to a AIT-5 deck or the like for real time REDcode (linear) recording. Assume deck has firewire 800.

Its got blinking lights so back off it is the coolest.... :biggrin:

ProRes sounds great too - almost as good as REDCODE
