I found a Super Farron on ebay for $1200, I cannot justify paying that much since we have a f/0.95 50mm for our NC.

This goes close to the sensor, but should be able to be put on the RED ONE if you take the PL mount of, and maybe do a little other work.

This lens is said to be sharp, and may be good for night arial work, and low light, you might be able to make a wide angle adapter for it also.

Anway, it has 4 hours to go. If it was $600 I would probably pick it up, but $1200 is too much now for me in a 76mm.

If you get it let me know, I would like to see the results, I might be able to help with the mounting.

Its T/1.0 is a stop faster than Zeiss Super speeds!

I have a bunch of these super fast lenses(not the super farron) from .75 to 1.0 but they all have strange image circles or have very very short back focus distances (1-3mm) or other quirks since they're generally made for industrial, military, or xray purposes. One of them is even radioactive from nuclear testing... hmmm.

Sweet, gamma radiation! :nuke:

Just don't make the camera operator angry... you wouldn't like him when he's angry...

I think you will find the Super farron is different from those optical "things" used in X-ray machines. It is a modified Double-Gauss lens design, somewhat like the Zeiss Planar, not a Petzval type, it was designed in the 1950's for photo camera and TV camera use and other special high standard uses.

I forgot, the reason people purchase cameras now is so that can shoot green screen at f/22 with a 5 degree shutter
