No doubt you've read that 80s years on, the original German print of Metropolis is being released. A 'Directors Cut' so to speak. It looks amazing.
Got me thinking though... 80s years on, how do us Red users plan to blow the dust off the shelves of our digital footage?
Any ideas?

By then our media may be all interactive holographic 3D, but I am sure they will have the ability to watch old fashioned 2d imagery on flat screens... for nostalgic reasons....

I hope this really is a copy of the original print and not another sliced and diced release sitting in someone's attic for several decades. It deserves a full blown Lowry style restoration.

It's a 16mm negative from a beaten original release print of the long version.

From what I read, they found a 16mm copy made from the original highly flammable 35mm print in the sixties. The 35mm print is lost or got destroyed. I understand the print is in pretty bad shape and it will take some time to have a (digitally) cleaned version.
PS: Miha beat me to it, sorry for the repeat ...
