I've been considering which hoods / sunshades to get for both 4.7" and 7" monitors, and there's some very nice and different designs out there. Here's the few that seem to come up the most. What do you use / think is the best? Is there a great hood out there that I'm missing?

Wooden Camera

Simple, made well, folds flat for travel. I have 2 of these.

Tilta Sun Hood

Amazing looking design, but the bezel doesn't seem to come off without tools. Might be an issue for travel, but seems to be the most well built.

Ocean Video GlareGuard

This design actually seems to be my favorite. Folds flat, tool-less, BUT it says it's secured by magnets. Is that a danger if these gets placed in a bag with RED minimags? Anyone have these?

Smallrig

Similar to the Wooden Camera model, folds flat and simple. Not sure about build quality though as this things are dirt cheap ($14.00 ?!). I think they only make one for the 4.7" monitor as I don't see a specific 7" DSMC2 version?

For the 7" Red, the Ocean is way to big to be fold flat. I ended up putting it in my secondary front box, which is more a messy case for everything not practical.
I have both sizes and I find myself using the 4.7" because of that. The damn thing doesn't fit in my backpack.

But the 4.7" is perfect, hihgly recommended.

I must say the Tilta looks fine too.

There was a shirt with a special made hood here on reduser that I think is was a good idea. Many times I and up with some cloth over me to get a better of the image. Don't remember who makes it thoe.

Sold my Ocean Video Glaregaurd and went back to tried and true Proam one. Doesn't get knocked off, fold flat, and cheaper.

The smallrig one is utterly useless.

That's good to know about the 7" Ocean. If it doesn't fold flat and easily fit in a backpack then what's the point? :-( I currently have the 7" wooden camera one it actually does fold flat, is small and very easily portable.

The 7" folds flat, but then is too big to fit in any of my cases. And doesn't fit a regular eastpack backpack, or small run'n'gun portabrace. I put it in my case one sided folded in the corner to minimize the room needed.

Also, I don't use any sunshades with 4 sides, as it's a pain to touch the screen, especially below 5", it can limit viewing angles too much, and tap into the handle.
3 sides. That's why the glare guard is useful compared to other brand.

I'm using the Ocean Video one for my 7". It's been working great when I need it. As mentioned it doesn't fold the easiest, but it's thin length-wise and I can slide it in whatever case I have.

Been getting frustrated recently with how easily the Wooden Camera 7" slips off the monitor.

Was considering the Ocean one but sounds like it is not very easily transportable...

dang.

I have the smallrig shade, and it's ok if it's all you have but I'm i'm looking for a better solution.

Actually working on one right now. Have a prototype, and will begin selling soon (not RED prices either). I can show you pics of the prototype if you would like. We developed it specifically for outdoor run and gun. Folds, long on top, shorter on sides, has 2 detachable longer pieces that Velcro on where the sun is hitting the monitor. Nothing has worked for us which is why we actually developed it. The sun is always moving and so are we. The detachable pieces can be attached anywhere on the hood to see the shot you need. We are making 4.7, 5, and 7.

Here are some shots of the prototype. It is now foldable as well, and comes with the 2 extenders that are removable. We will have a video up as soon as I am back I town.
