View Full Version : Can't import 'H' QT References?

I tried to import some Half resolution QT reference files (both REDline generated and camera-original) into Media Composer 2.8.3 on our Mac and met with no success at all.
Seems not to matter if the H reference is from a 4K or 2K file (so 2048 or 1024).
This is with the latest QT Codec and footage from early Build 16.
The footage plays fine in Quicktime.
Examples attached below.

we are working on qualifying an update to the QuickTime codec that solves the picture issues on both Mac and PC. I have not gotten word yet from release engineering as to when that will be, but as soon as I do, I will post the download link here.

That's for the DNxHD codec? Or in relation to importing the RED QT reference 'proxy' files?

I have the same problem. But this error is in the QT proxies, not the DNxHD codec. It works in QT Movie Player but not in compressor for example.
_P and _M plays fine though.
Why not import the _M proxy for now until Red updates the QT component?

We're using the M proxy for now - good from 4K files, not so ideal from the 2K.

Michael any news on when this codec update may be available, I have a shoot at the end of the month with Build 16 cameras and would prefer to import straight from _H proxies rather than any other workaround.

I also would love to know if there's been any progress here.
For me, the all the _P/_M/_H/_F will play in quicktime, but the _H and _F files import as all white. The thumbnails for these are also white in Finder, but again, still play fine in Quicktime.
I'm okay editing with the _M files, but I'm definitely going to want to relink to the _H files before final export. We shot 2K, so the _M files are definitely not good enough... :-(
Any new info?
thanks,
Greg
