Nope, you have to order from America and pay import duty and taxes when it arrives in your country.

That may change, seems I recall Jim saying a few months back that they will have (or have) an office in Czech Republic. - ill skip over from Hungary and pick one up. ;)

Now that's interesting - wonder what the price of Red One and all the trimmings will be there. May save on customs duties, but actual prices may eat up the savings.
If there will indeed be a Czech office, sincerely believe Red will buck other manufacturers' practice, ie. take the fair way and reflect the exchange rate.
Too often the same equipment being sold in the UK costs the same in pounds sterling as they do in the US in US dollars, even when the exchange rate is almost 2 dollars to the pound (at the moment)!
It's bizarre that some equipment costs more to buy in the EU than to personally import from the US!
I have faith Red in the EU would treat us well.

Czech Republic? Sounds like an odd location to export too. Most of the import/export stuff runs through Ireland these days. Apple and various other computer companies use it. I would've thought that was more likely but if Jim said it then i guess it must be true. Perhaps he has a nice house there or something that he likes to abscond too!

Hi Eric,
Remember there is a 40% anti dumping tax on broadcast cameras not made in the EEC, so there is more than exchange rates to take into account when comparing prices. Remember the USD is fairly low relative to the £, I remember buying IMC Motion Control equipment when the rate was 1.08 GBP V USD!

Does support mean the same as selling RED camera's?
I don't know, I initially though (someone correct me if I'm wrong) this was meant more as a kind of customer support, if there is something wrong with your camera.
If not... great news! What will the price be in Euros?

Prague seems really like a true. I was completely overwhelmed when I noticed that one can choose to read RED pages in English, Spanish, Japan, Chinese and Czech. My little mother tongue.

Yes there is quite big film industry in Prague, and low labour costs too. So the prices may not be $100000, but still it's Europe with all it's taxes and duties and penalties and .... Better to bring it from States to Prague in own hands.

Any news on the Prague Red Cell :)?
When will it be operational?
What will it offer: purchase and support or support only?
What would be the prices?
Given the taxes in my country - Bulgaria, EU [:)] - the price should be ~35 % higher than the US?
Clarity on any of these?
I'm definitely not the only one interested in this, down here.
So...What's it gonna be, Merv? :construction:
