Having some trouble digitizing some tapes shot on the HDX-900. Shot 1080-24pA, capturing on AJ-HD1200A with FW board option thru firewire.

Two problems have arisen.

FCP will capture the whole tape with no complaints, saying it has removed the pulldown, but the clip shows up as a 29.97 clip anyways.

The other problem is that sometimes the tape will be broken into two files, eg. tape 1 and tape 1-1. The first file is fine and normal. The second file is fine and normal in QT player, but shows up as a single frame of black in FCP.

Coming back to recapture on Thursday shot by shot, was hoping someone could shed some light on the issue.

Also, there is a KONA 3 in the room that I could use - will I still be able to remove the advanced pulldown if I capture over HD-SDI? Maybe this is a better option?

a simple test to see where the problem might lie is to try and capture a problem area of a tape from the camera's FW port and see if the problems
persist.

Just a thought

Problems were the same capturing from the camera.
