View Full Version : HELP! Downgrading REDCODE codec.

I'm trying to install REDCODE codec version 1.5 over the 3.1 version on two different Macs. One of them worked fine. However, when I try to run the installer on the second Mac, it first complains that there is already a newer version. I can get past this first warning, but when I eventually hit the "install" button I get an error message telling me "There is nothing to install".

I've tried removing the only file I can find which is the "REDCODE.QT.component" file in /Library/QuickTime. But, the 1.5 installer still complains. I also checked the installer logs, and they say that a total of 10 files have been installed. But, it doesn't specifically say WHAT and WHERE.

Does anyone have any idea how to completely remove 3.1, or is there a way to force the older version to install regardless of what is already there?

Thanks in advance,
Paul

Sorry, I never could get back to 1.5 after installing 3.1.0 on that computer. However, I had two RED jobs coming in at the same time (one of which was on Build 16), so I was forced to stick with 3.1.0 and hope for the best.

Fortunately, all of the footage decoded fine with 3.1.0 so it all worked out. I guess if you're really desperate, you could always rebuild the OS from scratch and then re-install 1.5.

Good luck,
Paul
