Yes, there was just a 5.8 earthquake in Chino, CA but we're unshaken.

Thanks to all who came over this Saturday, July 26th. You can see some pictures at:

For those of you who could not make it we had fun and we learned a lot from Ted Schilowitz and David Mullen, ASC. We will be adding videos of their presentation on the web site next week.

Ted from RED Digital Cinema presented the new features of Build 16 to a packed audio dub stage at Kappa Studios. The members got to see some of the less documented features of the new firmware on one of the RED ONE cameras that Ted brought with him.

David Mullen's informal round table was a crowd pleaser too. At one point the line to speak with David stretched around the corner of the hallway. He was scheduled to do two half hour sessions but ended up speaking for three hours!

Element Technica unveiled their new hand-held rig specifically designed for use with RED ONE. They had multiple cameras in different configurations for people to try out the rig.

Element Technica has also given out the door prize. Paul Toomey is the lucky winner of a $580 video break out box for RED ONE. Congratulations Paul!

Last but not the least the Owners' Circle was the place to chit-chat about the issues facing RED ONE owners and those who are considering using the RED. Right next to the Owners' Circle was the Members' Showcase where Jenn Gotzon and Chris Armstrong screened and talked about "Stained." This films shot on RED ONE is one of those rare shorts that simply must be seen. This moving film will be shown at L.A. Shorts Fest.

If you have RED material you'd like to screen and discuss with members at one of our future meetings please call Igor at 818.8433400.

Until next time.
