Brilliant!
Still going to wait and see how it treats other people before I upgrade though. No rollback is scary.

The RedCine and RedAlert versions are currently marked as Beta. Will those versions be changed to release versions, or should we expected upgraded versions? Thanks.

Seems like edge focus assist went from black and white to color somewhere between early 16 and later 16 too. Or am I imagining that?

Hi Brent,
Where can I download BUILD 15 V2.2.8? Can you include it in the Build 16 release folder?
Thanks

Do you ship the new cameras (~2400<) with Build 16 (3.2.5)? Does this mean that new REDs are incompatible with Build 15 (and lower)?

Fantastic timing - we're just about to start a feature!! Now there are no more excuses for staying Build 15 (Build 16 has recently been the most stable Red build I've ever seen). Congratulations on another milestone!

We've just finished a feature, which was shot using Build 16 beta.

The following note is stated in the Released Firmware - Build 16 (3.2.5)
Note: Recordings made with Build 16 are not supported by current versions of RED Log and Transfer, or 3rd party editing or image processing applications that do not utilize the updated RED QuickTime Codec.
but
in RED Log and Transfer Plugin (BETA) Release
Note that Support Firmware 16.
Please advise, can I use RED Log and Transfer in Build 16.
Thank You.
Best regards

Wai Koon, you can use latest L &T for B16 provided you also download and install the latest Red QuickTime Codec as stated - Lim

Phaz, what Joel means is that the edge focus assist was indeed colored red, albeit over a monochrome display. However, while on RAW view, the display does NOT turn monochrome while using the edge color focus assist feature.

Bumping this... will Build 16 be OEM firmware for cameras shipped after release?

Does Redcine/Redalert support changing ASA in build 16 yet? Without that, I don't think I would upgrade to build 16 yet.
SF Geek

It always supported changing ASA in camera. What it couldn't do is change ASA in Redcine. It isn't a problem because the exposure slider does the same thing and that works.

You are correct, that note has been corrected.
The caution is about using 3rd party editing or image processing applications that do not utilize the updated RED QuickTime Codec.
