I'm working on a feature movie entirely shot on RED one. As the editing schedule after shooting is very very narrow, due to the anounced benefits of RED, I need to prepare and organize my complete edit directly on set. The recommended workflow with editing on QT reference files doesn't practically work, as I always need to carry all original RED raw data with me. After one month, this is quite a lot. So I need to render offline quicktimes (ProRes 422). but this takes time, which I only have got at night, when I should sleep. So I would like to use REDrushes to do that. Can anyone answer me following questions:

1. Which Look source in the REDrushes menu does take my pre-grading from REDalert? Is it RSX+in/out?
Why do I get a white picture, when I choose "RSX only?

2. What is the right selection for the Timecode, when I later want to online the edit via crimson and REDcine to RAWs again for exporting it to dpx sequences?

3. How do I use the crop menu? for example to convert a 4K 2:1 frame to a 4K 2.35:1 frame.

4.In the scaling menu: Which is the fastest resampling filter? CatmulRom?

Thanks for your advices

Number one is a bug, use RSX with In/Out, it won't hurt if you don't set in- or out-points.
2. I don't use that workflow, can't comment from experience.
3. I tend to use scale and fit the appropriate dimension. It won't distort.
4. Compared to de-bayering, this doesn't count much. It's more important which softness you like.

Depending on what size Prorez files you use, they might be just as large as the R3D files.

One problem with Red Rushes is no audio. I have written some small scripts that use Redline and QTcoffee to create offline files with audio. Here is a thread where I explain how:
