I just wanted to publicly thank Jim, Ted, Graeme, Stuart, Mike, Kelly, and the rest of the RED team for the fantastic job they've done at NAB. My business partner and I spent over two hours in the booth today speaking with each of these people (and a few more who's names I've forgotten). Almost everyone was gracious, took our questions seriously and had insightful answers. Special thanks to Stuart for spending over forty-five minutes with us talking over specifics, leaning on a display case. He was upfront and detailed, and talked both implementation and philosophy behind it.

I like to think it's not only what you create, but how you create. The RED team has shown a lot of character in the midst of the melee.

And make no mistake... everybody seems to be aware that this camera is a game-changer, particularly the big boys... I stood in line with a Panasonic P2 product rep, and was part of a conversation later with another large, digital cinema camera manufacturer. Some are embracing it, some are still in denial. My business partner is a top-flight steadicam op with credits on $100 million+ productions, with recent experience on some of the other top-end digital cameras... and after seeing the footage and talking with the RED team, he's convinced this camera is going to alter the cinema landscape.

I'm glad to be part of the change.

Brovo very well stated. I think that how far they have come is a testiment to how much they really believe in what they are doing.

And their results will not only fill a desire for a lower cost 4K camera but also seem to be so elegant that some people will soon leave their film cameras behind and make the jump to RedCine.

And they will continue to fill out their own profit maximization curve by going up the curve with their 4K Displays/Projectors and down the curve with a 4K Mini/Accessories.

Jim/Oakley is a master at selling high quality at a high margin which says RED should have plenty of cash around for more innovations in storytelling for the near future.

Life is too short to shoot analog,

I just got back from the LAFCPUG supermeet... it was great to see the whole team up there receiving much-deserved accolades. It made me think: this is what I want to do some day. Not build a camera... but pull together a team of smart, like-minded people and do something to change the world.

Watch for me in a couple years... Thanks Jim & Team.

I invest what time and money I have on something based as much on where it's going as on where it is now. I sold my Avid DS Nitris and changed over to FCP (over a period of two years) based on the momentum I saw with FCP. The dedication, focus, and tenacity of the RED team, along with the soundness of the concept, are creating a momentum that was easy for me to buy into. Meeting everyone at NAB only confirmed in person what can be seen on this forum. RED is real, and RED ain't stopping for anything!

RED is a game-changer, even more than I knew before NAB. The integration with FCP, and the future plans for projection and display, creates a true end-to-end solution like no other, one that affects content creators as well as distribution, not to mention the viewer.

RED by itself is groundbreaking. Apple has changed the dynamics of post. With this partnership, they leapfrog every competitor and make it a no-brainer to buy into. I say that without reservation BEFORE the first product is shipped. That's my level of confidence, and I can't really afford to be wrong.

Dammit, I feel young again.

My team came to NAB enthusiastic about the camera, and let even more excited and enthused about the team of people behind it. RED TEAM, you done good.
