8.21.08 Update -- I've uploaded version 2 of this Build 16 Menu Map as I discovered a couple of omissions:
System Menu Pt 1: In the FRAME GUIDE menu, "FULL" has been added to the list of Frame Guide choices.
System Menu Pt 2: In the KEY-MAP menu, the USER-5 menu has been added. In the same menu "VIEW RAW" has been added to the list of choices. And finally under each menu the location of the button on the camera has been added.

The Sensor and Video menus have not changed.

Please let me know if you find any other errors.

Scott

P.S. I don't know if this has been discussed on the boards before, but the manual states that the A, B and C buttons on the back of the camera are user programmable. If they are I can't find where to do it. And trust me, I've been through ALL of the menus!

-----
I got part way though making a menu map of build 16 before I discovered Octamas had already posted one. I decided to finish, though, (no disrespect to Octamas) as the layout is different, more closely mirroring the look of the menus on the camera. We've only had our camera for a short time and this was a good way for us to get intimately familiar with the menus.

The map reflects the default settings of the camera. It was designed to be printed on legal sized paper but is perfectly readable on letter size as well.

Please let me know if you find any errors:

The version currently posted was created in Illustrator CS3 and should open as scalable vector art. Have you already tried opening it in Illustrator?

Hi Scott, looks good! Now the REDusers can choose. :-) Actually Manuel Wenger started with a build 13 guide.

Thanks, Alexander. There are definitely advantages to both layouts. Yours can be updated faster and printed smaller for quick reference on set (among other advantages I'm sure). The intent with ours was for it to be shown on a large display for an upcoming RED camera demo we're hosting. Not only did I need to learn the menus thoroughly, I wanted people new to the camera to be able to follow along easily.

Cheers,

Scott

Do you suppose this could be made into a handheld type of program for use on an Iphone.. For recording settings during shots (I typed "shits".. I've already corrected it, but it cracked me up so I'd thought I'd share anyway!)

See ya

You're very welcome. I'm glad you guys seem to think the map is useful.

Edouard turned north early and went east of Houston. We're on the west side so were just getting the fringe rain. Looks like we dodged a bullet.

I've updated our Build 16 menu map to add a few things that were left out of version 1. Links are below and in the first post of this thread.

Those are not assigned functions in the menus. Think of them as "radio station" buttons, i.e you go to the position you want to be in the menu tree, and press and hold A or B or C to assign that location.

Nice job. Much easier for someone that doesn't have the manual handy.
