Here's one...
If I'm rolling 48fps, timecode runs faster too, so that each frame has a unique TC number. OK. Makes sense.
But if we roll for a long time, then cut, then roll again quickly, the same TC numbers get used again.
Example:
SHOT 1: TC START= 08:00:00:00
We roll for 3 minutes real time. Then TC END= 08:06:00:00
But the real time on the clock is only 08:03:00:00.
We roll again, one minute later.
SHOT 2: TC START= 08:04:00:00
We roll for 3 minutes real time. Then TC END= 08:10:00:00
But the real time on the clock is only 08:07:00:00.
And much of the clip has the same TC as the previous shot.
I know that edgecode will be different, and the clips have unique names, but does this make editors crazy in any way? It certainly confuses the script super.
Not saying it's bad necessarily; just a factor. A I confused?
Cheers,
Harry
