Hello Everyone,
I am in the middle of conquering my first Red on Avid work flow. I have been reading up on it and had assistance from the lovely people from Root6 here in London.
But I am still very concerned that I have overseen some vital details which will come and bite me in the backside later.
I would really appreciate it if you professionals could take a look at my doings so far and point out possible pit falls:
The material was shot at 23.976 fps and we have decided to offline in a 23.976 NTSC SD project in 14:1 (due to lack of space on unity and time factor)
I am working on a dual processor Mac with Avid Adrenaline and DNA box.
1. made 1k proxys using RedAlert
2. made ale's of the proxys in MetaCheater
3. imported Ale and batch imported corresponding proxys
my tape names and cam rolls both show the original Raw file name.
I have brought in the Red16 template for the EDL manager.
I understand the first conform step will be to create DPX files using RedAlert or RedCine. But I just read that the metadata transfer might not be flawless from metacheater/ redAlert into Avid and then back out?
What do i need to look out for when creating DPX files?
Basically: where to I go from my offline?
I'm sure there are the right links to the truth out there. If you guys could just point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.
