No indication of that at all from the article but it wouldn't surprise me if they did at some point. The article is rather ambiguous about several points which, if clarified, would give you a solid grasp of what the product does and does not do.

I guess the SDK reference is a joke? The web page mentions a 4k resolution of 4096 x 3112 but I don't think that is available from the Red camera, so I assume that is for a different 4k camera, or film scan.

Yes it was a joke :) but you could see this as a precursor to Sony's 4k ambitions and possible camera development.

I defer to the post experts to whether the ZEGO would have any application for r3d conversion...

just guessing, i would say that sony media division ( vegas, acid, sound forge) will apply for the Red SDK ??
i doubt if they'll put out a news release when/if they do ...
