Couple of things.
Firstly, I don't know who the DOP was in the Peter Jackson short or his team, but from all accounts they performed an excellent job and especially within the available time.
This was remarkable....however, what I find extremely remarkable was that these two cameras were intuitive and true enough to keep pace with the demands of this professional camera crew. That the crew with so little prep time, achieved the results they did, speaks well of the camera's abilities to deliver anything required of it.
This was truly an excellent beginning. I don't know if the camera will turn out to be a classic, however being able to achieve these type of results from a cold pick up and shoot, I would think, is the hallmark of one.

I'm also noticing how other professional cinematography forums seem so rapidly to be falling in line to the abilities and potential of this camera. They all see the obvious potential of the camera.
However whilst it has arrived, and most of functions are there, I would imagine incorporating everything and getting all working perfectly within a reasonable amount of time will be the true trial of the Red team and once passed, the crown of cinematic kings can be a bestowed upon them and the camera.
I believe this last push to completing the camera will be the hardest trial that the team will undertake. Probably more than the months of hundred hour weeks and the grinding down of the last 14 months. So particularly with the victory line in sight, these next couple of months, finishing off everything to the high standards they're set will surely be the hardest. From what I've listened to and heard of the Red team, I'm sure they will achieve what they have to in these next months and go down as truly great in the annals of cinematic history.

Cheers,
