Hello RED/"Steadicam" - Users.

I am in the process of creating a special "Red" configuration of our stabilizer system "Actioncam". I would like to ask Red users that use stabilizing systems or plan to in the future, if they would like to be able to use the RED LCD and RED Bricks with there system or if you would prefer to have a seperate monitor and batteries for the job. Also will you prefer to use primes or more heavy zoom lens.

Thanks

Brian

I have been eyeing a steadicam flyer setup using red's flash module (for onboard recording to keep weight down) red lcd and red brick. I never heard of your product, what is the approximate US dollar price of your current action cam?

I'd prefer to use the RED LCD, RED batteries, and the RED 18-50 close focus zoom. The RED 18-50 is about 5" long, weighs about 3 pounds - which lends itself really well to stabilizer work. A RED One body, with LCD, Flash, RED battery, and the 18-50 zoom should weigh about 13 pounds - a nice light load to fly. Obviously it can be made heavier with other accessories.

I've personally handled RED One in a stripped down configuration, with an 18-50 zoom attached.

Nice "red" detailing
Looks good. I wonder about the price as I was eyeing a flyer as well

The basic set price is approx. 32k depending on the monitor you choise. The ActionCam "RED" setup is aimed at 15k.

I should have the first 3d renders in the next days, so stay tuned.

Is this with or without lcd and brick?

This suggestion might make it too costly but I always envisioned a RED styled steadicam that resembled some futuristic looking robotic arm. More form than function but it sure would look interesting.

This is without bricks and lcd. The ActionCam "RED" will be based on our big system the "zero-g", giving you the possibility to upgrade to the heavy load verson - keep in mind that a fully equiped "RED" with followfocus and matebox will quickly go way over 15pounds. Add gyros and you go far beyond 20pounds.
