It was shipped to a friend's apartment in Issaquah, WA and because they weren't there at the time of delivery, they left the head in a standard anvil case infront of the apartment buildings front door......ARE THEY CRAZY???!!! I am in Vancouver and called my friend to make sure it wasn't stolen yet...luckily his Grandma went outside and found it....I called FedEX and they said there was nothing they can do and they could try to pick it up the next business day...so they would have to leave it outside overnight...in Issaquah...

FedEx does this to me repeatedly, that's why I prefer UPS.

There's a FedEx thread where this would fit perfectly, but not so blatantly up to date. ;>) Obviously problems still exist with FedEx deliveries, but you've got to make sure of your own detailed delivery instructions, including signing for a delivery and insurance. If you did all you could, and they still did this, well, we've been debating this for a while, and I still think it's the individual driver who's responsible. Though I don't think FedEx will ever fault a driver. However, RED ONE's have gone missing, too.

Continued great luck in the future!

I had the same FED-EX syndrome here in the UK, the other day, not an oconnor or red left at my front door but a different camera with accesories for a job.

I saw the fedex guy arrive, obviously I didnt run out to greet him because he could be delivering to someone else.

SO I watched how he walked towards my house, through the gate, to my front door, so I was about to grab him when he knocked, got to the front door, looked through the curtains, HE WASNT THERE?

Maybe it was the wrong address?

Went back to the window, saw him going back to his truck without the package.

I was confused, opened the door to help him, but tripped over the box which he just left in front of my door, he didnt even try to ring the doorbell. I COULDNT BELIEVE IT. Did my house stink, was he scared? He didnt give the dog the chance to bark.

Whats wrong with these guys.
The camera was sent from a reputable company in Germany to my doorstep in rural England.

Reason I wasnt sure the delivery was for me, I was expecting DHL.

When my Red comes I will camp out in front of my front door with a stove and tea making facilities.:ranting2: :ranting2: :ranting2: :ranting2:

Fedex has done so with my residential address as well, but now with a business address at the new Studios, they have never left anything out, from the smallest to the largest and very expensive Items, such the RED ONE!

I do believe that this is only an agreement for residential were if not specified and paid for extra a signature requirement fails to be made, they will leave it at the door.

UPS does the same thing!....... these frivers are simply people that want to get the stuff out of the truck so they make their day, [just like a film crew]. If anyone has super expensive gear, make sure there is someone there to recieve it!... hire a babysitter, or illegal at Home Depot, it's less hassle & cheaper than dealing with a missing delivery.

I had that happen with a box of film. I was home at the time. Didn't see FEDEX come, no doorbell, nothing. Left it at the back door ... I didn't see it. Called them the next day to figure out why my package was late. Found out where the driver left it. Thank goodness the film was just fine. Not a fun night of stressing about it though.

At least it was Issaquah and not Renton. (No offense to anyone living in Renton) :)

You can call FedEx and instruct them to never leave a package. You will have to call FedEx and FedEx ground service as they seem to be different, at least for me.

There were a lot of package thefts in my area last year, so I called both FedEx and UPS. This is when I learned that FedEx ground needed to be called.

I'm at home waiting for my Oconnor 2575 system to be dropped off. No way I'll risk them just leaving it at the door.

UPS rocks. Early, actually knock/ring.

FedEx blows. They're always late, never follow instructions - I think with the Kinko's merger they just got too big and stopped caring. If only Tom Hanks actually worked for them...

We'd probably all get complimentary footballs with every delivery . . . . or be stuck on an island (wait isn't that Lost?)

This is why I have all my FedEx (not ground) packages shipped to the FedEx Kinkos a few miles away. First, they don't drop it on my doorstep when I am not home, they give me a call when it arrives, and it arrives by 9 AM because Kinkos is the first stop on the route! So instead of waiting around all day to get my package, I get it first thing (true, I have to make a small trip but when several $$$k's worth of gear is being shipped, that's a big deal!)

Just got the RR mattebox the other week. According to Fedex or Redrock a "Network Device" - right. Shipping costs I paid to Redrock are included in Fedex's VAT and import duty calculation bill - right. In short: UPS all the way.
