OMF out of Premiere on PC?

I have read some forums that state an OMF can not be exported from Premiere natively but can be done with going through an Avid system.

Is there another way to get audio with handles out of Premiere and into ProTools? Creating an EDL?

I know that audio is not enabled now, but I am working on a non-Red project that requires this. We are also trying to figure our audio post workflow for our upcoming feature shot on Red.

can you create an EDL and re-link the job in an AVID for the OMF output?

you should export an .AAF file, then open it in avid, relink, export omf. it works and it is fast. i heard that protools will soon be able to import .AAF files.
