View Full Version : RedAlert/REDline DPXs aren't readable in Flame

We've got a client who requested DPXs of a sequence they're working on in Discreet Flame. We rendered them out from RedAlert and handed them over, and the client said that they tried to open the sequence in Flame but it reported the sequence as being 8-bit, not 10-bit, and subsequently wouldn't open.

The same sequence rendered out from RedCine, however, works fine and reports (as it should) as 10-bit. We don't have access to Flame, but we confirmed the problem with multiple DPX sequences in another application that only supports 10-bit files - the RedAlert sequences would not open unless they were first converted by another program.

Is this a known issue? Is there a fundamental difference in how RedAlert and RedCine create DPX files?

I would assume that its Linux 2007 Flame, but can you find out the version? That will help others with similar setups troubleshoot this...
