For us reservation holders, I'd like some clarification on how the lens orders will work....
From what I've gathered the 18-50mm will be on a first come first served based on your reservation number, ie. me being Red #194, I should receive the 194th Red 18-50 zoom.
Will there be a short supply on the zooms? Will I have to wait a couple months to receive mine if I don't reserve now?
Also, I am the #9 reservation holder on the 18-85mm zoom. Does that number count for anything still?
MOST IMPORTANTLY........
I am wondering how the order system for the prime set will work? Will it also be first come first served based on whar Red One # you were? Or should I reserve one now or forever have to wait to receive it? Is there is reservation # que already made for the prime set?

no thats not the way it will work.. your lens # does not match your serial number on your camera. Some people are buying multiple cameras and 1 18-50 etc. etc. etc.
The zooms most likely will be ready by the time your camera is shipping, thats probably where you are getting confused.
Reservation holders get priority on lenses, i.e. if there is only one lens left in the warehouse the guy that has a camera reservation will get it before the guy (or girl) that doesn't.

So my question then is, should I reserve the zoom and prime now, taking into account the possibility of a short supply of these lens?

so is it possible to request matching serial numbers?
for those of us who are anal...

Im sure you can email Kelly and ask her really nice at the time of ordering, as long as its available.

Jarred, so the way I take it is.....
I'm #194, when my Red is ready to be picked up, I will be asked whether or not I want the 18-50 zoom, if it isn't in stock, that is due to the fact that reservation holders 6-193 bought them all up prior to my camera's ship date. But, I will be able to receive it next based on whenever all of the remaining 6-193 reservation holder's lens have been shipped?
So in that case, reserving a lens really insn't necessary?
With that out of the way......How will the orders work for the prime set?
I'm sure that I will receive my Red One prior to the prime sets availability. So will the prime sets once again be given priority to reservation holders #'s? Or will it go by whenever my reservation on the prime set was placed?

Thanks for asking this last set of questions, Alexander. I was wondering the same.

Even with that, I'm still wondering if I shouldn't follow through with that order for the primes. Hmmm... Decisions.

not ordering as soon as you can is still kinda a gamble.. you do get priority being a reservation holder, but remember there are a good 1500+ of you now :)

OK, that's kinda what I thought...
So I put in my order anyway. Would've already had an order due to my monday morning excitement, if the web site were fully functional. ;)

Well, I wish I would've known the reservations were up on Monday....
With me being in Vegas from Sunday to Wednesday I had no idea the online orders for the primes were up.
When I came home and hopped on Red.com I was shocked lol.
Any idea how high the prime set orders have gone as of yet?
