I arrived at NAB determined to get the lowest Red #s possible for a three camera order. I arrived at the south hall at 7:25 Monday morning (an hour and a half before the doors opened), was the first in line at the door, and sprinted to the Red booth as soon the doors opened.
Although I wanted to order before the movie, the Red staff wasn't quite ready to accept orders, so I went in to watch the show -- I was in the first group.
Meanwhile, back in my office, my assistant was attempting to order the cameras via the Red website, with the plan being that if the website opened up before the Red booth, he'd order them online. He started hitting the refresh button at red.com at 9:00 am eastern time, and three and a quarter hours later (about 9:15 Pacific), while watching the movie, I received his call that he got the three cameras online.
I don't think anyone could've gotten them any sooner at the website, and I know nobody got them sooner at the booth. My question is: what are my Red #'s? They should be close to 1475 (the highest of the previous orders) I would think, but my Red receipt #'s don't seem to have any relation to reservation position.
Any ideas? Thanks!
