GPS-Triggered Aerial Photography

I was wondering if anyone knows of a device that will trigger an aircraft-mounted DSLR based on GPS coordinates. The purpose is to be able to do reconnoissance-like fly-overs over a piece of land and end up with a film-strip-type image sequences that can be stitched together in Photoshop to create a very high resolution picture of a large piece of property. This is for an architecture friend of mine who has asked for my help. Any ideas? My military connections are on vacation at this time :tongue: .

I havent found that specific item. but i have run across similar things. typically hobby forums geared toward R/C enthusiasts will have information on this.

Thank you very much for this. This is very useful. The draganfly thing would be ideal if it where not for the 1 pound payload limit. I'll go through the rest of the links and see if I can find anything not too expensive. Of course, the ideal item would be a an intervalometer with GPS functions married together. It would be nice to be able to ride in a plane while photographing.

yeah just do some hunting. i borrowed a board design that a guy made to control an R/C plane from a computer to make a crappy moco rig.
