I have been trying to log into Scarletuser.com without much luck for almost a day now. The server simply "couldn't be found"...
:) I hope everything is well

This is really weird - my browser can't find the server, but has no problem for reduser. How can that be? Have I been "banned" from scarletuser? :) (maybe once you cross certain number of posts You must take a time off - he he he...)
Could You ask Jason or any of the mods currently active there for me if they are experiencing any server issues...?
Thanks Yannick...

OK - now this is definitelly looking like one of those DNS hijacks... This is what I get now every time I put in www.scarletuser.com:

Plase ask Jason or the other mods to have a look at this thread over here...
Thanks guys...

Any new major developments over there?

Please ask Jason for the direct IP address of the scarletuser forum. I will try to bypass the DNS server - this will prove whether this is a DNS hijack or not...

Peter, this may sound dumb, but did you clear your cache and cookies? Did you try a different browser?

Gosh, you're so crappy support.
- Hi, my PC is on fire.
- Did you turn off your anti-virus?

Of course - even tried different computer, heck I have even tried a windows Dell laptop. Now more and more sites including B&H, etc... are having the same problem. This is a clear corruption of the local DNS server. Interestingly all lines for our ISP are "currently busy"...
Can anyone get me the direct IP address for the scarlet forum?
Thanks...

Here it is, I'll edit it out if there's any implication of posting it publicly.
I don't know this server tech stuff.
But it's fairly easy to get anyway.
Edit: Ok, it doesn't work! haha.

I thought you had , Peter, just thought it was worth asking... I hope it works out for you soon. As of right now, there's not much going on over there.

Yeah, pretty dry, no renders, no news.

OK, the problem was with the local ISP's DNS server that was hijacked by some kind of trojan. The simple solution is to use OpenDNS addresses in Your network settings, instead of the ones provided by Your ISP...
These are the OpenDNS addresses:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
Simple trick and all is working fine...
Hope this helps to someone else...

Opendns rocks. I've been using their servers for over a year and lookups are much faster than my ISP! Also includes free phishing protection and an actually usable / not obtrusive "did you mean" service for mistyped addresses.

Peter, I've had this happen to me before with scarletuser. I could access reduser just fine but could not connect to scarletuser. After a while it was fixed though. I don't know if it was the same problem or not, but just letting you know something similar has happened to me.
