Hi All,

I'd like to introduce myself I'm Kevin King, Product Manager for ContentAgent I want to be the first to bring the news to you of latest developments with support for R3D in ContentAgent. Below is a press release that has just hit the news stands here in the UK. Which I think you may find interesting as we can make all kinds of digital files including Avid DNxHD.

If you would like to come and see what were doing then I'll be at IBC Stand Hall 7.J05. If you have time check out our website http://www.root6technology.com and see the online demos of automated workflow soon to be in your hands.

Root6 Technology http://www.root6technology.com will use IBC to unveil an updated version of its Content Agent system that works with files from the Red One camera.

The re-purposing and content management technology will now have the ability to transcode raw Red R3D files and low-res proxies.

This will allow the automatic creation of digital dailies as well as offline editing, HD finishing and 4k mastering.

The new dailies workflow development can be fully automated, outputting to ftp, email, web, RSS or interactive DVD. It is due to be shown for the first time at IBC.

Associated metadata can be burnt-in or included as part of an XML file. In the case of DVDs, workflows can be constructed to produce individually branded copies for a director, DoP or cameraman.

Root6 Technology managing director Marcus Hume-Humphreys said: "Making the Red codec available on ContentAgent ensures that the dailies community will have the flexibility to create and automate its workflow, producing appropriate and cost effective deliverables."

Root6 Technology is a division of reseller and systems integrator Root6.

I'll be trying to make a deal at IBC - we've been watching ContentAgent for over two years - it is seriously impressive stuff. I was hoping to see R3D support - so this is exciting stuff to me.

When you saw RAW conversion, I assume you are speaking of access given to you by way of the SDK correct?

Impressive for what??

Automated workflows.

You have to see it to appreciate it - but you can work in a node-based environment and build "workflow trees" with automated email alerts, FTP uploads, multiple transcodes and processes.

You can think - Leopard Server's Podcast Producer + Compressor + Episode Pro - wrapped together on steroids.

This is a tool that allows a small shop, with a small staff, to do more.

Again, you need to see in action to appreciate how well it was designed.

It's expensive IMO, and that is the ONLY reason we don't already have it - but as our company grows - and the whole staff really feels the pressure of "multi-tasking" - automated workflows look better and better .... and then you look at what it costs to hire another employee ....
