Hi all. . .
We've just finished shooting our feature, "Works in Progress." Until the film was completed, I didn't want to move to Build 16 and risk a serious glitch or non-matching footage. Now that it's over, I'm really wondering what Build 16 is like. But since Build 16 is a no-going-back upgrade, I really need your advice as whether I should make the switch or not?
So, what say ye???

16 will set you free - just wrapped a feature on it - 25 days - 16x9 4K. Not ONE SINGLE ISSUE.

there seemed to be a problem for a while with cameras locking up during the upgrade process - is this still a possibility?

There is no reason to go any longer with build 15...

But, of course.
Both cameras, #791 ("Lewis") and #1256 ("Clark") are now the proud holders of Build 16.

I was afraid to go to build 16 too, but now, it's amazing. Especially when I look at the grain on a 17" monitor at 2000 ASA, it blows me away how little grain is still there.

I wouldn't make a judgment on that via a 17" monitor.
2000 ASA is a "look" for sure. 640 seems like the maximum "normal" ASA to me.

Yeah, I'm not about to go shooting 2000 ASA, but it didn't look nearly as bad as I expected. I know a 17" monitor isn't the best option for judging a 4K image, but regardless, I expected to see more grain.
