I just finished two shoots with multiple Red Ones.
One thing that is driving me nuts is the histogram. I noticed that the histogram changes based on how you view the cameras output (ie Redspace or RAW, etc...)
While I DO understand why this approach is being taken, I do NOT agree with it one bit. As a DP, I want to know when I'm blowing out for real. If I can push my exposure up another 1/2 stop to gain cleaner shadow detail, then I wanna know for sure that I can actually do that.
The histogram should be permanently set to show the linear capture, and nothing else.
