RedAlert Crashes making Quicktime wrappers

I am using RedAlert 3.5, Quicktime 7.5.5 and OS X 10.5.4 on a 8 Quad Core Mac. I am trying to open .R3D files to create Quicktime wrappers but the program crashes everytime I go to make them.

Do I need to backtrack any of my software?

No, that doesn't work either. It crashes just the same.
