Hey Tom -

I like to think we are not "basically" anything -

Yes we are a full-on production AND post production company, but we are keeping the "conceives/develops" part on ice for the duration of building our new facility.

When we started Offhollywood 5 and half years ago - we didn't really have a business plan - but we believed one thing - that technology would change the way people create, finish and deliver content and that many aspects of the production and post production processes would ultimately merge - and there would be much confusion and chaos.

The best example I can give as to our approach to building the company is kind of like the "reverse" of Radical Media.

Radical built their business from the creative - ultimately representing a large roster of amazing directors, (40+ last time I asked) - Founders John Kamen and Frank Sherma also managed to navigated from the ad world to long form world, which few do well.

Radical eventually acquired OUTPOST DIGITAL, which meant the really acquired Even Schectman, founder of Outpost, now the CTO of Radical. (for the record, Evan is a brilliant guy and was a key inspiration from me to start Offhollywood)

Offhollywood is starting with the technology - then adding the creative.

This allows us to build relationships with other producers and production companies, which we can work many different ways.

We rent Red cameras and provide technical support/DITs to other production companies.

We provide post production services to other producers and production companies.

We provide complete production services - from start to finish - anywhere in the world.

Next year we'll launch a creative development arm, along with some other things ...

Does that make sense?

Sorry i didn't get a chance to meet you at IBC this year, i was a way filming in Jersey (CI) Ive just started my blog on wordpress about a week or so ago, im trying to keep up a post everyday - its tricky - its mainly been photos -- so all credit to you.
