This super clean 35mm DOF footage is struggling at lower than 10bit precision (especially after I've pushed it around)

What tools are people using to dither from 10bit to 8bit for 8bit deliverable.

Is there a Symphony plugin that can dither (good quailty hopefully) to 8bit.

Or a stand alone tool?

kind regards

Michael

PS I had this once 1/4 as bad on some Vision 2 50D after a spirit transfer with an over active DVNR..

REDCINE or REDALERT works for format conversion. If you'r trying to match RED footage with 250D, there are good tools in Apple Shake. (grain etc..)

I've used T_Deband (thinderbox3) for After Effects on a project before that had trouble with serious banding. It worked beautiful! Highly recommended.

Its available in the "Tinder" plug-in for Avid DS.

You should be able to get a demo license for trying it out.
