Arri/Zeiss Standard Prime T2.1/10 mm Distagon T* (IMS on RED).

Those pictures below are from my latest rental in Italy this weekend.

The guys were renting Arri/Zeiss Standard Prime T2.1/10 mm Distagon T* and also a set of Arri/Zeiss High Speed lenses.

They were impressed, trilled and excited with the pictures they've got from RED.

Also they were a sort of video-type handheld shooters because they didn't want to use EVF on a handheld and even at the studio shots.

Two music videos.

Very happy with IMS on RED.

Also the customers are excited because with PS PL mount is very easy and fast to swap lenses.

Checking of BF will be always in P+S Technik factory when ever I would need it.

Just to clarify, that 10mm is a Zeiss Standard speed not an Ultra Prime. Still a very good lens though.

You got it first, Evin.
Looks just like my (old-style) 10mm T.2.1 Zeiss.
Yes, it is a nice lens.
Cheers,
Harry

Thanks Evin.

Yes, could be Arri/Zeiss Standard Prime Mk II 10mm Distagon T* 2.

I'm still learning about all that.

But never mind the lens is good and the mount is good too.

Maybe I will show some extraordinary footage from that shooting later.

But one more thing:

http://www.apogeephoto.com/dec2000/black_and_chrome.jpg

The Voigtländer Ultra Wide Heliar 12 mm f/5.6 Aspherical Lens with Leica-M mount that

showed even a wider angle of view that is 121° than Arri/Zeiss 10mm Distagon T* 2 that has 102.1°.

Also much much lighter and also sharp as Arri/Zeiss at corners.

The test is coming up soon.

Roughly what would one of these sell for? - looking for a 10mm for underwater use.

Do you know the outside diameter of the front?

If I remember right it's 156mm.

Yes. 156mm. An Arri LMB-4 with no ring in the back slips right on (originally the LMB-4 was designed specifically for this lens)

Harry

Curious about your test, that 12mm would be awesome for us underwater shooters if it was a little faster - a lot of underwater is at f8 - f/11 but a little scary to not be able to open up. Also remember that the 121° is for full frame slr not RED/S35 so 10mm should be wider on the red.

Would like to see how that 12mm stacks up against canon ef-s 10-22 or the Tokina 11-16
