Full sail student graduating next month here. The school is good for a technical education in equipment and the overall understanding of the Process of making movies. There is no social life and Orlando and since Orlando does not have a Film industry of its own most people end up starting from scratch, as far as networking is concerned, @ L.A, New York, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia. For my particular circumstance it was worth it. The schedules are strenuous and rigorous.

I thought Orlando has the Walt Diseny studios and Universal there.

I thought they shoot TV and feature there...They don't??? and of course commercials.

I know Full Sail pretty well. Had some hands on there. I got my Film degree next door at UCF. (With Ed Sanchez of Blair Witch fame). Orlando's a fun town, and a good place to learn the trade. Not much in terms of networking, though.

A fun little RED fact about Full Sail ....

Offhollywood's co-founder Aldey Sanchez is a grad.
Plaster City Post's Chief Technical Officer and partner Stephen Beres is a grad.

Offhollywood shot and edited a spot for Apple.com on our Red's at Full Sail - (some Varicam stock cut in) - you can find the spot here - http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/action/

I know that today times are tough. But, today is a great opportunity for Red. Donate Red Ones or Scarlets to all film schools in the U.S. These schools fight like crazy for the funds to buy cameras. Imagine training the entire next generation of film/video professionals on Red cameras and Redcode workflow.

Ted's smart, you got to hook them while their young. Less confusion that way.
