there are a few of us that are waiting patiently for any sign of life from
the 50-150 factory.
Last I heard reliably was somewhere in the 200's by camera number.

With having solid quantities of the 18-50 in inventory, we are really swinging resources to the 50-150. Just like I once said with EVFs, don't judge future fulfillment rate with where we were on fulfillment rate recently. We want to get these lenses in your hands so we are making a big push there, for sure.

Its been a bit of a slog for sure, but you also have to remember, far fewer
folks ordered the 50-150 then the 18-50.

At least that is my hope.

Whenever someone asks about the 50-150 it makes me think Red has got an
old Craftsman locked in a basement somewhere in England churning them out by hand and everytime he finishes one he hands it up though a hole in the floor and starts on the next.

Of couse we could just pay about 5 times the price for other glass.

While you're waiting... Here's a couple of frame grabs from the 150 at the two ends of a rack focus at 150.

Got one, but not really used it yet. The back focus was completely different to where we had the camera set for S4s so it went back in the box. Hope to test when we have time.

I'm sure you're breaking some hearts with that statement!

I use mine all the time -- there's nothing out there like it with a longer reach in a compact, portable size.

Ahhh yes RED, i would like to know also how come i have paid in full for my 50-150mm a good 2-3 months back, camera #903 back in March and cameras with delivery dates well after mine are getting theirs?????????? What's going on?

Imperial i think, but a metric would be better. At times i really wouldn't care just to get one.

Strange that there is no official response yet about what's going on with the 50-150mm. It's the mysterium lens! Nobody knows anything about it but some random red owners seem to miraculously receive it.

No sign of any 50-150mm metric here, beeing RED #476 and having paid mine only hours after the famous mail, I am feeling a little left behind reading that itīs already in the hands of a red in the 16xx range....

What I REALLY want to know is. Does it have the same build quality as the 18-50mm or can we expect something a bit better?

Kenn Michael

I've heard (on this forum) that the build quality is better than the 18-50.

Hi Erik,

I pre paid for my complete red package about 6 months or more prior to receiving "the famous email" So maybe thats why.

Hi Erik,

According to Red, they are fulfilling these orders based on shipping date of the Red One, not payment date. I got the email notice at the beginning of February, but didn't actually get my Red One until approx. March 22. My 50-150 was ordered and paid for with my Red. Still waiting for the 50-150.

Hi Paul: You'll be happy to hear that I received mine for #1008 today, someone will be even happier to know that, since I purchased one already from an earlier number, I don't need it so everyone jumps up another number in the queue. They're getting there...

which serialnumber got it?

Miltos Pilalitos

They will ship mine this week. (Metric)

Paul, send an email to RED about the lens because they sent me one ages ago when the lens was ready to ship but i never got it. This was part of the reason for the delay. Maybe there was a mail server problem and you never got yours either.

I got my imperial 50-150 today. Haven't had a chance to open it yet. My Red One serial number is 508; I received my Red One around March 22 of this year. I also encountered the outgoing email problem from Brian at Red, which accounts for some of the delay receiving this lens.

Anyway, I'm stoked!

Yes, very great news, for me especially. I haven't had a chance to shoot anything with it yet, but mechanically, it's action is definitely better than the 18-50; my 18-50 is better mechanically than any other one I've seen, but the 50-150 is a step up. Nicely damped controls. I'll let you know my shooting impressions soon.

There are no news here either for my 50-150... I guess i will have to practice a little bit more patience.

Good to hear from Verko that the lens is mechanically smoother than the 18-50mm. I can't wait to shoot some tests with it.

I'm still waiting for my 50-150mm but the Canadian dollar has lost 25% to the USD in the last 2 weeks!!!
I'm actually scared to get the email that my lens is ready as it's going to cost over $2000 more than if if I paid for it 2 weeks ago.
So I may have to keep waiting anyways:-(
