There's so much information that's come to light at NAB yet I cant help feeling I'm still in the dark by a lot of what RED will be capable of. I was kind hoping NAB would answer all of my questions, but it has just raised more questions for me (partially due to lots of new announcements).
For example, my camera looks like it will be delivered in August with 98% of features enabled. But 98% of what exacly? I dont know if we've ever been told what their target feature set will be...
So what is the planned feature list of the Red One? I understand that they will be expanding the feature list, but they must have in mind what the feature set is going to be initially.
With an acknowledgement that Red may not know the answer to some of these questions yet, I feel they are still worth asking.....Please add any questions here that people may have about Red. A couple of mine are :
Will the camera support speed ramping in the intitial feature set?
Will it support buffered recording for capturing 'live' moments?
will it support in-camera trimming of clips?
Will it playback 4K footage downscaled to both EVF and LCD?
Will it have selectable ISO, if so what range?
What is the battery life expected to be with the EVF and LCD running?
Can you charge a battery and power the camera at the same time with the Charger?
The new supergrip and red motor brings up even more questions. Is the redmotor/supergrip a complete FF replacement (for Red lenses only or will it woek with all lenses)?
Will Red Motor support shot transition (focus) in camera via a menu system(probgramable from position a to b, for example)?
Im sure there are many more questions I have missed.
