Hi all. . .

I'm trying to put the final touches on my Nikon collection. One lens I've been reading about really intrigues me. . . the Nikon 105mm AF DC f2.0. That DC is fairly well-loved out there in Nikon land. I'm curious of anyone has any experience with it on the RED. Is it at all useful? I just love a great bokeh.

Thanks much.

It's an interesting system. I haven't used them on the Red but I have on Nikon still cameras. They are fantastic lenses but the DC feature is a slight gimmick. It does what's advertised but it's subtle. I can totally see it's use for portraiture but most general shooting it's not worth the trouble. The AI 135mm f2 is just aqs good a lens for much less money.

Thanks for your post, Evin. . .

I currently have the 85 AIS f1.4 and the 135 AIS f2.0, but I just feel a little bit naked in between those two at present, and so wondered about the DC feature of the 105mm.

I'd use a long zoom, but I swear that the bokeh of zooms just isn't in the same league is it is with a long prime like the 85. That naturally led me to the 105mm DC, since I figured with all that control it had a chance to end up becoming the new Bokeh King.

Sorry my broken english...

I've had the 135mm DC F/2 for about a year, I sold my old 135 F2.8 right away...Its my second favorite lens to my 85mm Shift Tilt...

all the reasons why a Cooke lens is beter then a standard set...

Great Sharpness...
Defocus lens if wacked all the way out...
Make the Bokeh even more whaked out
Rounded Iris for better BoKeh...
More Blades in the Spinctor of the Iris make the out of foucus parts better.
in 2k its great macro..I just used it alot in the last mUsic video in Studio...
