Hey guys, im standing here in a digital camera shop looking at a Sigma 100-300 f4 APO zoom lens and wondering whether or not to buy it - and whether anybody has experience in using it out there - Nikon mount. Its about $550 is it worth it?

If they had a 2.8 version i would get it but this is the f4. Just hoping someone out there can help me.

Many thanks.

Andrew.

I stumbled accross this option today also!
Ive only heard good reviews about this lens in the photography world.
But real world red feedback would be very good.
Some people turn their nose up at Sigma straight away.
A 2.8 would be considerably more expensive as well.
I just got my 400mm 3.5 AiS yesterday but dont have my red yet so cant use it boohoo!

Will post some images when my camera arrives in a few weeks time.

I took some images at the shop on a D700 using it and they are pin sharp so that's a great start.

I tried this lens on my Red today and it looks awesome. Will post some stills in a day or so.
