So we're on the set making beautiful pictures, but wait, was that last take a beauty or a beast? I've got my Red with the Red Drive, shooting RedCode and I have my trusty Macbook Pro by my side with RedCine (totally digging how the shot button works and lays out my shots and takes).
How do I go back and look at what I just shot?
Is there anything similar to DV Rack that I'll be able to use in addition to the feedback from the EVFand/or LCD?

you can play back instantly in camera out to a HDMI monitor on the cheap if you want.. or use the EVF.
you can bring your files into the free REDCINE to playback as well.

So essentially, there's a "vcr" mode that you can access from the camera controls? Do you need to "rewind" or is there a multi-take display that you can choose from? I'm thinking P2/XDCAM HD similarities.

Playback capabilities are what you'd hope for. No "rewinding".

Think "Quicktime Movie" like transport controls -
Cue
Jog
Play

a little disclaimer on that image.. that photo is from Boris, not the final cameras, so things will change.. in fact some of those buttons already have.
but it does give you a good idea, thanks brook.

OK, that's good, it was one of our topics of discussion on the road home from NAB.
What about a DV Rack type of app? I guess if you can see the histograms and other shot data on the monitor output, that would be a start, though I'd like a waveform monitor.
