David Stump reported 8 1/2.....Jim or Graeme took the wrap on that one.
Said it was fixed and is now closer to 11 1/3.

Richard Brook, DOP on Peter Jackson's short says it was 'about 9 stops...compared to what is is now'.

Nice to hear there's light at the end of the tunnel

What the deal guys, old version camera, firmware?
I know specs change and all features weren't optioned but seems a shame to have a showcase piece done on reduced stops.

Cheers,

Richard Bluck? ;)

The cameras were malfunctioning during the PJ test.

Stump did his tests on dramatically earlier firmware on Frankie.

11.3 is the number you should expect.

They did their piece with the malfunctioning cameras because that is what was available at the time. They aren't afraid of showing the "bad" with the "good". They aren't hiding anything.

I'll leave out specifics of what actually happened on the PJ test for the people who were actually involved. Keep in mind that what I say is only what I've been told or what I've heard. I don't work for RED and I don't know any more than the public.
