Hi all,
I've been trying to output Apple ProRes (HQ) file from both Red Alert and Red Rushes. After the render, the ProRes clips generated are all black!
Anyone can help?

Is this only to ProRes? Does H.264 work ok?
Dumb question... Do you have FCS installed (along with the ProRes codec)?

H.264 works fine. FCS not installed.

I guess you need to have the codec installed...
The codec comes with FCP but FCP is not needed to install the codec.

The codec has been installed already....

Same thing just happened to my project. From turning out normal files and in the next second only black ones.
I trashed the plists of RA and RR but nothing changes. My system has been working flawlessly until now. I haven't installed the new QT-plugin yet.

I think it's really the ProRes missing, I made the same experience over here on one machine, and when I asked the technician I found out it didn't have FCS installed.
Moved the whole project to another one with FCS, and everything came out OK.

I have the same issue, but it's somehow the RSX file that's making the clip transcode black. When transcoded with no RSX file attached, it's fine. The RSX file was generated before the install of FCS and reinstall of all red software. Could that somehow affect things?

I have the same problem when doing the following: make 1 RSX file in redalert for an entire batch of dailies and use the attach RSX function pointing to the file in the sample folder. Black frames all across. Using the same rsx file using the shot specific rsx function works fine. What am I doing wrong? How can I make 1 rsx file and apply it across an entire batch of dailies? I'm using the newest Ra, Rr, Fcp

While it works fine for me, I've read the recommendation here recently to move the 'master' RSX out of it's folder to a separate location.
Plus, I tend to stick to UNIX-conventions to name files and folders, i.e. no spaces, no special characters. While this may be an old habit, it seems to help many programs in OS X, and RA/RR definitely like it…

this exact same thing is now happening to me while trying to convert a batch using one RSX.
Gonna try moving the "master" RSX...

ok moving the master RSX up in the folder hierarchy seems to have solved the problem (i moved it out of the RED's magazine folder into the projects main folder)
