So.. if I saw correctly, this is coming out in a month or so?

I want to know about any spec changes, is it still going to be 64gb or higher?

Also, price change?

So 128gig SSD for 4500 USD?

Same price as 8 16gig cards and a CF module.

Tempting...

i think i'd take the 16GB cards if i had to choose.....too many eggs in one basket with the hard drive.....

True. Perhaps slightly more comforting since it's not a spinning drive, but still I'd rather lose 8 minutes of footage than 80!

sure. or download 8 minutes of footage at the end of the day rather than 80 ;)

now....for epic. the red ram will be nice. but....that's a while away, so the 32 or 64GB cards will be out by then.......i personally like the cards. to each their own though. a helicopter shooter would find the ram quite useful i'd imagine. or underwater shooter.....etc. etc.

Sorry to throw this off topic, but how about Red supporting (or making your own) the ikonoskop 80GB memory cartirdges when they are released.

http://www.ikonoskop.com/dii/80gb-ikonskop-memory-cartridge/

They claim 240MB/sec and "priced much less than P2 cards or 16GB SxS cards" according to someone who spoke to them at IBC. So less than $850. I'm sure that I'm just being greedy and or ungrateful, and certainly won't claim to know anything about the technology or development of such, but $4500 seems a bit steep for 128GB of SSD at this point.

this is a bit off topic too, but that ikonoskop A-cam dII is a sweet little cam, can't wait to see what else they come out with.
