Hi Folks,

Well NAB was certainly fabulous to be at - so fabulous in fact you could forget you were in Las Vegas - which is always a benefit!

Anyway we want to organise a meeting in London so please respond a.s.a.p with a short message and to the poll assumming I've figured it out correctly.

Basic dates/times for me are:

Saturday 28th April 3-00pm
Sunday 29th April 1-00pm
Saturday 5th May Noon

Please let me know what works for you.

All the best, Phil

Where is the meeting supposed to happen?
What is the meeting schedule?
Any hardware to look at?

Hi GM - well it's usually central London e.g. The Couch, Dean Street but that hasn't been decided yet.

Meeting schedule goes something like this - first to arrive sets up the TAB, we all get a drink, start talking about all things RED, Nick lights a fag and I light up a fine cuban cigar, more drinks, more talk, eventually we all order food, muggings here pays for it, you get the picture . . it's not that organised. Though if you are an agenda person and want to make one up we can definately consider it's merits.

Basically the people who didn't go to NAB, can ask those who did, as many questions as they can dream up. As far as we know that's Me, Nick and David, although I'm sure there were a few other closet Brits to shy and awkward to admit they went to NAB.

You're obviously not up to speed on the availability of hardware are you? We have pictures of the hardware. The only way to see actual hardware was to be at NAB, which is kind of why we're having this meeting.

Anyway you are welcome to come along - and to show willing I'll get the first round in (again).

All the best, Phil

Well, I did not make it to NAB and was hoping to see some hardware ....
Perhaps I can come and bother you when you have received yours:sarcasm:
And thanks for the invite but unfortunately I cannot make it Sunday.

I'm res number 1319 so I won't get my camera until Sept/Oct. But if it's hardware you want to see then Steve Gibby has reservation #7 so he should get that in the next few weeks. He says he's going to stop in London on his way through to somewhere in Europe. If he sticks to that plan we may see him before the end of May or maybe early June. That would be your best bet. You could send him a PM to check - he's very approachable and also one of the most helpful people you are ever likely to meet.

Good luck!

Hi getken - it was great meeting you as well - and all the other redusers - I had no idea so many would show up! That was a really pleasant surprise, and real 'we're all in it together' community spirit as well. Let me know if you are planning a trip to London and we'll try and have a swift half somewhere !

Count me in for the 5th, I think I'm in London that week anyway so it'd be great timing if I'm right. Will be great to meet up with board members finally and hear about NAB.

Look forward to it.

Brilliant - I'm really glad to hear that will work for you and the rest of us.

The 5th is leading at the moment so hopefully everyone can make that.

I look forward to meeting you in person!

Likewise Phil. Hopefully most of the UK Red users can make it. It'll be good to put names to faces (Well... those that don't openly advertise their mugs like you and I Phil!).

Well Paul's got a "Eastenders" kind of "wot you looking at mate? - Gonna nut yer" and Phil is chilled beyond belief (is it nirvana or something he smokes???)-- I think I'll keep the brown bag over my head...

Smile! (Really, I'm only joking so don't take offense...)

Your Joking? You sure about that? Don't make me come there and kneecap you!

:)

Actually my hair's grown since then so I don't look quite so thuggish, it's a bit of a shame actually, I'm a well-mannered individual but when people met me they acted differently... quite amusing really.

Well after the mental couple of weeks I've had, and still a few more days to go... The 5th is my preferred option.

I look forward to meeting up and, as said, putting names to faces!

Hokay folks democracy rules so the 5th May from noon it is.

I think we'll stick to our favoured venue which is The Couch at Dean St in central London. Nearest Tube is Tottenham Ct Rd. I'll book a table for how ever many say they can come by close of this thread on Friday.

I do look forward to meeting you all in person and figuring out how we can work together or compliment, or support each other in some way. It would be nice to cheer each others achievements rather than feeling we all competing with each other. Anything that any of us do to make the RED camera the camera of choice is good for all of us. And each of brings a unique set of skills and diverse interests so let's celebrate that!

See you all next Saturday 5th May at The Couch !!

All the best, Phil

It's a bad weekend for cheap hotels due to the bank holiday.

Try the London Travelodges/Premier Inn, Euston is available for £82 on the Saturday night.

Hi Johann, Absolutely no problem - it's not like it's that organised. Please feel free to drop in when ever you can make it. I think some of us will there past 3pm if the Las Vegas leg of redusers was anything to go by.

I do hope you can make.

Thanks for that Paul, I'm glad to see you got the right place and that someone is more organised than me.

I've just booked a table for us under the name of BECQUE pronounced "BECK"

I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone who has responded!

See you there mate.

Hi James, It will be good for everyone to get your NAB impressions as well then.

Once we're all sorted with a drink and settled down I might ask the people who were at NAB to give a short report about their NAB experience for the benefit of the folk that were not there.

And then after all (3) the reports are done we can have a Q&A with the NAB attendees responding to questions if people think that's a good idea?

Any other ideas please, anyone - chip in.

Best regards, Phil

Well, it was great to meet everyone today at The Couch. I only remember a tiny proportion of your names, but hope to bump into all of you again in the near future where you can remind me! And thanks Phil for starting the ball rolling...

BTW, like a doofus, I put my little pile of business cards down at some point and failed to take them with me- doh! I expect we are being sent a round robin email from James's laptop list, but if you want me to have your details again anyway, I am at eric@lightandsmoke.com or ericyoungproductions@yahoo.co.uk

This is the first chance I've had to get to a computer since the meetup. Was great to meet everyone, although some people I didn't get the chance to talk to as much as I would've liked. Some great advice and banter is a great way to spend a saturday afternoon.

Thanks for sorting it out Phil and I too look forward to the next time we get the chance to get together.

Cheers all!
